KỶ LUẬT ÐOÀN SINH

MEMBER EXPECTATIONS AND CODE OF CONDUCT 

1.      Ðoàn sinh phải tôn trọng kỷ luật, vâng lời anh chị trưởng, tôn trọng người trên, hòa nhã và vui vẻ với bạn đoàn. Each member must respect and follow the Member Expectations and Code of Conduct, must obey the troop/group leaders, must respect the elders, must live in harmony and be friendly with other members. 

2.      Ðoàn sinh phải giữ gìn tư cách và tác phong với mọi người chung quanh, phải giữ gìn lời ăn tiếng nói và không được đùa giỡn quá đáng.  Tránh sự biểu lộ tình cảm trai gái không đứng đắn và đàng hoàng trong môi trường sinh hoạt.  Each member will do the best to maintain good conduct, behavior and attitude toward others; and must be mindful of his or her speech and must not overplay.  Avoid inappropriate public display of affection. 

3.      Ðoàn sinh phải đi sinh hoạt đều đặn, đến và ra về đúng giờ quy định. Ðoàn sinh phải vào dự lễ Phật, học Việt Ngữ và tham dự tất cả sinh hoạt do ban huynh trưởng đoàn sắp đặt. Each member is expected to attend class and activities regularly, arrive and leave on time according to the specified schedule. Each member must attend Prayer Mass, Vietnamese language class, and must partcipate in all scheduled activities. 

4.      Ðoàn sinh muốn ra về giữa giờ sinh hoạt phải có phụ huynh xin phép. Trong trường hợp đoàn sinh tự xin nghỉ, huynh trưởng trách nhiệm sẽ báo cáo và kiểm chứng với phụ huynh. Each member, who wishes to leave early, must have parents’ permission, either written or verbal, and communicated to the troop/group leaders. In the event the member himself/herself asks for his/her own permisson to leave, troop/group leaders will notify and verify with member’s parents. 

5.      Ðoàn sinh nghỉ sinh hoạt vì bất cứ lý do gì phải nhờ phụ huynh thông báo với ban huynh trưởng. Nếu không, đoàn sinh sẽ được coi như nghỉ sinh hoạt không lý do. Trong trường hợp đoàn sinh phải tự xin phép, huynh trưởng trách nhiệm sẽ kiểm chứng với phụ huynh. When a member wants to take a leave of absence, his/her parents must notify the troop/group leaders . If no proper notification was given, that member will be considered absence without leave. In special cases when member ask for leave of absence by himself/herself, troop/group leaders will verify with parents. 

6.      Ðoàn sinh phải đi sinh hoạt và họp đoàn đều đặn mỗi Chủ Nhật. Nếu cần nghỉ sinh hoạt liên tiếp trong ba tuần hoặc hơn đoàn sinh phải có đơn xin phép của phụ huynh gửi đến ban huynh trưởng. Ðoàn sinh nghỉ sinh hoạt 3 lần liên tiếp không xin phép sẽ bị cho NGHỈ SINH HOẠT TẠM THỜI. Each member is expected to attend class and activities regularly every Sunday. Any leave of absence of 3 weeks or more must be notified in writing by the parents to the proper troop/group leaders. Each member who failed to show up in their troop 3 consecutive times or more without proper permission and/or notification will be temporarily suspended. 

7.      Ðoàn sinh phải mặc đồng phục chỉnh tề và đứng đắn với Gia Ðình hiệu, bảng tên và huy hiệu hoa sen (cho đoàn sinh chính thức). Ðoàn sinh phải ăn mặc sạch sẽ đàng hoàng, không lố lăng - tránh trang điểm quá đáng, bỏ áo ngoài quần, mặc quần jean. Dây nịt phải có màu đậm như đen, xanh đậm, nâu, hoặc màu đà. Kiểu tóc không được quá khác thường, lập dị.  Phái nam không được đeo bông tai. Each member must wear uniform properly and neatly with appropriate name tags and the lotus emblem (for official members). Each member must be well-groomed, must maintain proper personal appearance - avoid excessive make-up, shirt not tucked in, wearing jeans. Belt should be of dark color such as black, navy blue, brown, or maroon.  Hairdos must not be too out of the ordinary, outrageous, or bizarre. Male member shall not wear ear-ring.

8.      Ðoàn sinh vào lớp học phải mang theo đầy đủ sách vở, không được nói chuyện riêng hoặc đùa giỡn trong giờ học. Ðoàn sinh không được sử dụng điện thoại cầm tay, trò chơi và nghe nhạc trong giờ học và giờ sinh hoạt. Each member is expected to bring appropriate materials (book or notebooks) to his/her class, restrain private conversation and joking in the classroom. Each members is not allowed to use cell phone, play any kind of games, or listen to music while attending classes or during scheduled activities. 

9.      Ðoàn sinh không nộp bài làm ở nhà liên tiếp 3 lần hoặc không làm bài thi định kỳ được coi như vi phạm kỷ luật và tự ý bỏ lớp học. Each member who fails to submit his/her homework 3 times or fails to take the test/exam will be marked as violation of the conduct and will be considered dropping out of the class. 

10.  Ðoàn sinh phải cố gắng vượt bậc học của mình trong thời gian quy định. Ðoàn sinh nào không vượt được một bậc trong vòng 2 năm được coi như không có hứng thú hoặc cố gắng trong sinh hoạt Gia Ðình Phật Tử và sẽ được yêu cầu tự học ở nhà cho đến khi nào thi đậu bài khảo sát vượt bậc của mình. Each member is expected to pass his/her rank in the time determined by that rank. Each member who is unable to pass his/her rank in 2 years is considered not having interest or effort in the activities of Buddhist Youth Association and will be requested to study by himself/herself at home until he/she is able to pass the examination of his/her rank. 

11.  Ðoàn sinh vi phạm kỷ luật 5 lần sẽ bị cho NGHỈ SINH HOẠT TẠM THỜI. Members who violated the Code of Conduct 5 times will be temporarily suspended from the organization. 

12.  Ðoàn sinh phải biết tôn trọng tài sản vật dụng của bạn đoàn và biết tôn trọng, giữ gìn tài sản của Gia Ðình và của Chùa. Each member must respect the property of others; must maintain and conserve properties of the organization and of the Temple. 

13.  Ðoàn sinh phải đóng niên liễm như được quy định ngoại trừ trường hợp ngoại lệ đặc biệt. Members will pay the required membership dues, unless exempt by the Administrators due to special circumstances. 

14.  Ðoàn sinh phải nêu cao danh dự Gia Ðình Phật Tử; đồng thời phải giúp đỡ và hợp tác với các anh chị huynh trưởng    trong việc giữ gìn an toàn, trật tự, kỷ luật trong tổ chức. Each member is expected to exhibit and uphold the honor of the Buddhist Youth Association, as well as cooperate with and assist the troop leaders in maintaining safety, order, and discipline in the organization. 

15.  Ðoàn sinh phạm kỷ luật, làm tổn thương danh dự tổ chức sẽ được đưa ra HỘI ÐỒNG KỶ LUẬT GIA ÐÌNH xét xử và tùy theo mức độ vi phạm, Hội Ðồng có thể quyết định cho NGHỈ SINH HOẠT TẠM THỜI HOẶC VĨNH VIỄN. Members who violated the Code of Conduct, or commit any deragatory acts in any way or form, will be brought in front of the Youth Group’s Disciplinary Council. Based on the severity of the case, the Council will determine whether to suspend the member temporarily or permanently.
